Full Review

My husband and I recently returned from a week-long trip to Soriano, Italy (April 26 – May 3, 2025), and I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. Billed as an “immersive experience,” this combination cooking and touring adventure delivered in every possible way.

We traveled with a small group of seven, which created a wonderfully intimate atmosphere. Our accommodation was in an Airbnb-style residence, which gave us a more authentic feel of local living. We cooked on two separate days—hands-on, delicious, and educational—and spent the rest of the time exploring the breathtaking regions of Tuscany and Umbria by bus.

Some highlights included visits to three charming wineries and an olive oil farm, where we got to taste and learn about regional products directly from the source. One of the most unforgettable moments was touring a 1,000-year-old castle, complete with a private tour led by the current owner. That personal connection made the history feel incredibly alive.

Our tour guide was phenomenal—high energy, brilliant, witty, and deeply knowledgeable. She brought every location and story to life, making the experience both informative and entertaining. Every staff member we encountered from the tour company was friendly, helpful, and made us feel genuinely welcome.

The scenery throughout the trip was nothing short of stunning, and the food—every bite of it—was absolutely outstanding. From the cooking classes to group meals, everything reflected the richness and warmth of Italian cuisine and culture.

This experience gave me a true sense of the Italian people—their hospitality, passion, and joy for life. I came away not only with new recipes and memories but also a deeper appreciation for Italy’s history and culture.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this trip to anyone interested in a cooking and cultural tour. It was the perfect blend of activity, learning, and relaxation. I’m already dreaming about going back.
